We can clean and flatten aluminum cans and then put them into recycling boxes established by communities, schools or traders, or else hand them to professional recycling teams. We should choose packaging products which can be regenerated, recycled or decomposed as long as possible, and refuse buying products with plastic packages or over-packaging.

Regeneration of EOEs

As beverage containers, EOEs has the benefits of preserving the taste, being easy to freeze and light in weight and having no cracks. But most importantly, it can be recycled and regenerated many times.

  • Recycled EOEs are subject to pre-processing procedures such as wastage removing and crushing, before they are melted and made into aluminum ingot. One fourth of the recycled materials are used to manufacture EOEs, while others are used as raw materials for casting and die casting to produce auto-parts and motor parts. Still some remaining ones are used as deoxidant in steel-making.
  • The world consumed nearly 92 trillion EOEs in the 1990s and 200 trillion in 2000. Therefore the recycling volume and ratio of EOEs are both on the rise.
  • Each ton of aluminum ingot requires about 21000kw/h of electric power if it is manufactured with bauxite, but it needs only about 590 kw/h if it is regenerated from melted EOEs, thus saving up to 97% electric power.
  • The cycle of EOEs to regenerated aluminum ingot and to EOEs again can be repeated many times. Regenerated products are usually thought to be inferior to original ones in terms of quality. But the regeneration of EOEs is free from such concerns. The quality remains the same regardless of the times of regeneration. The regenerated aluminum ingot from melted EOEs is basically the same in chemical composition.
  • Each ton of regenerated aluminum manufactured from recycled EOEs can save the mining of 20 tons of aluminum ores and each EOE can save the electric power for three hours of television.

It is true that aluminum is the third greatest metal resource on earth in terms of quantity. However, the recycling and regeneration of EOEs can still save bauxite and also 97% of electric power. Therefore, it is of significant results in terms of resources and energy conservation. And it also contributes greatly to environmental protection and beautification on earth.
